A chance conversation at a station, a pop star, an encounter with a teacher's friend, a neighbour, a tinder date.... all led to my thinking that there are amazing stories waiting to be told everywhere.
People think they have an ordinary existance, after all, daily life can be a drudge. But I've realised that ordinary people are like gold mines, sometimes I have to dig to find the treasure. Other times, the treasures spill out casually, a throwaway comment which makes my ears prick up. I've made it my mission to record these treasures before they disappear.
I'm now always on the lookout for the unusual. If you know of any stories you'd like recorded or subjects you'd like me to explore, contact me!
Composers, rock stars, journey to India, Union man, Orange ladies and anyone in between all have a story to tell. I'm excited to share my conversations with them!
Long before the internet, marketing relied on newspapers, magazines, out door billboards, radio and physical experience. A small collective of farmers at the bottom of the African continent, had a dream to get their citrus fruit into the homes of Europe. I spoke to two wonderful ladies who were part of that breakthrough project.
Take a listen
Imagine summing up your life in an hour. Would you be able to pick out your highlights? I lovw hearing people talk about their life. I have a tendency to catch out snippets which I want to hear more of. From ladies promoting South African oranges in a modern 70's Europe, to strange road trips, pop stars, and musicians, Trade Unionists to mentors, I want to hear them all. Take a listen!
No internet, no telephones, no credit cards, no fax...
A journey covering thousands of miles and experiencing cultures, food, life made two young British ladies look differently at their lives. Do you have a life changing trip that you would like to share? I'd love to hear from you
